The architecture behind the lyrics
One person, one song at a time.
It started with Iceman
I was always the one explaining lyrics to friends who don't hear it like I do. Drake dropped Iceman on a Friday. I woke up on Saturday with an idea: stop explaining, and build what I hear instead.
How a video gets made
- 01ListenI pick the seconds that carry the most.
- 02DecodeWhat the bar actually says, under the words.
- 03PlanEvery line gets a scene, written before anything is built. Ideas that don't feel right get thrown out.
- 04BuildScenes one by one, every word timed to the voice.
- 05CutIf I don't like it myself, it doesn't go out.
One bar, decoded
"I'm worldwide and this is just another cargo jet flow"
Drake, Middle of the Ocean
Just before it, someone from the hood asks why he's making techno. Honestly, Nevermind was his house album, and his answer is: I'm worldwide.
So in the video the album's crates ride up the belt and get an EU stamp before they're loaded. The cargo jet flow he shipped is that album, sent to the European audience. And it's literal: his plane is a Boeing 767 operated by Cargojet, a cargo airline.
Watch it on Instagram →My one rule
I put effort in, and I only post what I like myself. Not views, not trends.
